A wide array of industries will be on hand for the second annual career fair Feb. 26 at the Columbia High School gymnasium, and organizers are seeking more to represent the broad range of opportunities available in Marion County.
The Mississippi Department of Education just published a 79-page document breaking down nearly every aspect of the state’s graduation rate. Rates by district, by students with disabilities, by race and gender, it’s all in there — with one notable exception.
Columbia is considering starting to enforce an ordinance that requires businesses to pay a $25 annual fee for signs.
“The city’s losing revenue, but it’s also just nobody’s being held accountable for their signs,” Bo Williams, who recently took over as building inspector, said during Tuesday’s Board of Aldermen meeting.
