Coronavirus, coronavirus, coronavirus! I am absolutely tired of hearing about “social distancing,” hand sanitizer and store shortages! Let’s get back to our regularly scheduled lives. Unfortunately, as much as I and the rest of us want this, this is sadly not going to be the case yet.
All over the nation life has taken a drastic and frightening twist from the coronavirus, and Marion County is no exception.
As of Tuesday there were 21 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Mississippi and 4,226 nationally, resulting in 75 deaths. There have been no deaths related to COVID-19 in the state and no cases in Marion County.
A line was waiting outside the blood mobile Tuesday to donate at the Columbia Police Department. Vitalant (formerly United Blood Services) is encouraging donations to help respond to the coronavirus.
