While the season was pushed back a couple of months because of the coronavirus pandemic, Dean Griner is planning to begin playing games June 1. It will certainly look a little bit different with guidelines in place to limit players being grouped together in dugouts or huddles.
Barring any setback there will be baseball and softball in Marion County this summer after all. Dean Griner announced this week that teams will be allowed to begin practicing Monday with an eye on June 1 as the official start date to the regular season.
While in Marion County the focus has been on high school sports being suspended until March 29 and Dean Griner suspended as well, the professional and collegiate players hailing from the area are dealing with more severe consequences from the coronavirus.
