Bullock wins statewide player of the week

Kentrel Bullock of Columbia High School has been selected as the Wendy’s Giant of the Week for his performance in games played on Oct. 18.

The senior running back for the Wildcats had a stellar game against West Marion, carrying the ball 18 times and amassing 234 yards on the ground. In addition to averaging 13 yards per carry, the Ole Miss commit also scored four touchdowns.

Sparked by his play, Bullock’s Wildcats beat the previously unbeaten Trojans 33-14. The victory by the Wildcats kept them perfect for the season, upping their record to 8-0 (now 9-0 after a win over Seminary last week).

Wendy’s Giant of the Week is a program that recognizes a Mississippi high school student athlete each week for outstanding performance on the gridiron. Wendy’s franchisees throughout the state have partnered with Russ Robinson’s Friday Night Under The Lights in selecting and honoring the Giant of the Week. Each Giant of the Week gets special recognition at a school pep rally, a commemorative plaque, and $300 in Wendy’s gift cards.

In addition, Wendy’s makes a $250 donation to the booster program for the school for each Giant winner.
