South Mississippi connection in the NFL

Jordan Thomas from Sumrall, left, swapped jersey’s with Marion County’s Logan Cooke after the regular-season finale Sunday in Houston between the Jacksonville Jaguars and Houston Texans. The rookies played together at Mississippi State, and both had solid first years. Cooke, a punter, averaged 45.02 yards (41.26 net) for the Jaguars (5-11). The Columbia Academy graduate was third in the NFL in punts inside the 20 with 37 and had the second-longest punt of the season at 72 yards. Thomas, a tight end who played at Sumrall High School, caught 20 passes for 215 yards and four touchdowns.
