Longtime county attorney retiring

In his last meeting as the Marion County Board of Supervisors attorney, Joe Shepard was business as usual.

Earlier in December, the longtime Columbia lawyer had been given a rocking chair, but on Monday he was busy with state statutes and board orders, the same as he’s done for nearly four decades.
