Organization forms to help Columbia’s animal shelter

A new nonprofit designed to aid the Columbia Animal Shelter is working to collect funds and add volunteers.

Melissa Daigrepont, an attorney and former U.S. Navy Judge Advocate General, recently moved to Columbia and wanted to help so she founded the Friends of Columbia Animal Control & Rescue.
