A Marion County grand jury has indicted a Kentucky man on charges of attempted murder and aggravated assault.
James Brumfield, 37, of Oak Grove, Ky., is being held at the Marion County Jail on $10,000 bond for the two felony charges.
The following incorporations were filed in Marion County during June, according to records from the Mississippi Secretary of State’s Office.

“Sidney Head and Bill Lampton of Columbia were named on the Dean’s List for the second semester at Millsaps College. … Sidney Head is the son of Sidney Head of Mt. Olive and the late Mrs. Head of Columbia. Bill Lampton is the son of Mr. and Mrs. George Ben Lampton of Columbia.”
The Williamsburg Road bridge project has finally been given a green light.
County Engineer Jeff Dungan advised the Board of Supervisors Tuesday that the county is now in receipt of a memorandum of agreement with the Mississippi Department of Transportation and can advertise for bids.
