The Columbia Board of Aldermen is hiring two full-time firefighters and changing the way all city firefighters are paid.
The Board met in special session Monday and also hired a part-time employee for the street department.
The following land transactions were filed in the Marion County Chancery Clerk’s Office during the week of Sept. 11:
• Tena A. Thomas, Kenneth W. Cooper and Stephanie Cooper Robertson to Tena A. Thomas and Josh Thomas for property.
Several area children will find their way into permanent homes next week as part of the annual 10th Chancery Court District’s Mass Adoption Day.
This year, the Sebe Dale Jr. Chancery Building, located at 250 Broad St. in Columbia, will play host to the event, according to Court Administrator Lisa Stringer.
