Person of interest in custody

A person of interest in a suspicious death investigation from Friday night in Kokomo was taken into custody without incident Sunday morning.
Shortly before 9, Marion and Wathall County deputies responded to a tip in Wathall County on Henry Smith Road where Ronnie Smith was located and taken into custody. The investigation is ongoing.


Ard-Pace to wed

Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Pace Sr. of Foxworth proudly announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their son, Jerry Pace Jr. of Foxworth, to Lila Ard of Tylertown, the daughter of Robert and Jessica Ard of Tylertown.

The groom is the grandson of the late Rose Courtney and the late Fred and Mattie Pace.







County test scores boosted by more rigorous academic courses

Offering more Advanced Placement and dual credit college classes helped the Marion County School District jump from a C to a B in state ratings.

The district’s overall score jumped five points from 590 to 595 on a 1,000-point scale and much of that increase came from students’ participation and performance in those courses.
