“Operation Real Deal” netted the Marion County Sheriff’s Office 14 arrests on Good Friday in an effort to remove drug dealers from the streets.

Marion County’s population is continuing to decline, according to 2018 census estimates released last week.

Grocery closes

Save-A-Lot closed its doors Sunday after three-and-a-half years in Columbia.

Vendors were in the discount grocery Tuesday morning clearing out merchandise, and a note on the front doors informed customers it had closed permanently.
