Polished Looks owner says excitement about Columbia helped motivate expansion
Marion County is going to experience a very wet weekend. Tropical Storm Barry is expected to make landfall sometime on Saturday near the mouth of the Mississippi River in Louisiana.
A lot of things have changed in 40 years, but some things still stay the same. One constant in Columbia has been The Myrtles Nursing Center.
On June 26 at the Mississippi Municipal League Conference on the Gulf Coast, Mayor Justin McKenzie received the 2019 Public Safety Award for under 10,000 population on behalf of Columbia.


Big plans for Freedom Fest

Organizers hope to draw 10,000 downtown July 6

Freedom Fest is fast approaching, and organizers hope to draw 10,000 people downtown for live music, arts and crafts vendors, fireworks and more.

July 6 is the date set aside to celebrate the country’s birthday and Columbia’s bicentennial.
