The Thanksgiving holiday proved deadly on the state’s roads over the long Thanksgiving weekend, but in Marion County officials reported no serious injuries or crashes.
Five people died on the state’s roads during the enforcement period that began at 12:01 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21 and ended Sunday at midnight.
A Columbia Police Department initiative is designed to keep shoppers safe during the holiday season.
Operation P.R.I.C.E. (Prevention through Real time Intelligence, Collaboration and Enforcement) was rolled out recently, and Chief Michael Kelly said the department wants to work with citizens and retailers.

Recently I ate lunch at a restaurant in Jackson called Babalu. The menu was very interesting and the food was delicious. It was kinda, sorta Mexican with some Mediterranean touches. I ordered lamb sliders. The server offered several sauces, among them Comeback.
