Marion County under tornado watch

Marion County has been placed under two severe weather warnings with a storm fast approaching.

The county is under a severe thunderstorm warning until 5 p.m. and on tornado watch until 6 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. Both were issued at 3:58 p.m.

The NWS advised that a severe thunderstorm was located near Kokomo, moving northeast at 55 mph with 60 mph wind gusts and quarter-sized hail.

A tornado warning is considered more dangerous and imminent than a tornado watch.
