BROOKHAVEN — The Mississippi School of the Arts is proud to honor graduating senior Christian McCance of Columbia.
He studied in the vocal music program at the residential, public high school in Brookhaven and was a Mississippi Scholar. McCance will attend Mississippi State University in the fall, where he plans to major in nursing.
He is the son of David and Blythe McCance and the grandson of Robert and Betty Bourne and Kenneth McCance, all of Columbia. He attended Columbia High School before going to MSA for 11th and 12th grades.
Suzanne Hirsch, MSA’s executive director, had this to say about the graduating class of 2020. “As corona virus has prompted changes in the traditional ways we normally celebrate our graduating seniors, it is our hope that students will recognize our respect for the immense hard work it has taken to get to this point in their lives. We do hope the education they have earned at MSA will serve them well. At MSA, we imagine, create, and realize a better world in which to live and work daily. It is our hope this graduating class will know how very important they are to this world.
