Senate revives dining, lodging tax

An additional sales tax on restaurants and hotels in Columbia could still be passed this year after the Mississippi Senate moved forward with a bill when a similar measure died in the House.

If passed, the tax would go to a referendum that would require 60 percent approval from city voters.
