Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, May 8, 2019, at Brushy Creek Missionary Baptist Church for Charles H. Moree, 83, of Columbia, who died on Saturday, May 4 in Hattiesburg. Burial followed at Brushy Creek Cemetery No. 2 on Sanders Road. Bro. Doug Barber officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7 at Brushy Creek Missionary Baptist Church.

He was a retired equipment operator with York’s Projects and Developments and of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by a grandson, Bo Moree; parents, Zeno and Annie Pearl Moree; sisters, Nancy Davis, Grace Jones and Evelyn Prine, and brothers, H.L. Moree, Billy Moree, Robert Moree, Calvin Moree, Phillip Moree and Edwin Moree. 

Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Moree; daughter, Melanie Moree; son, Keith Moree; seven grandchildren, Sarah Carney, Jamie Lee, Michael Ward, Shane Moree, Mitchell Moree, Rachelle Cox and Thomas Joplin, and 15 great-grandchildren, Layken Carney, Tripp O’Quin, Shelia Cox, Gabe Cox, Joan Cox, John Cox, Jasmin Lee, T.J. Lee, Diamond Lee, Alexia Moree, Makaleigh Moree, Sianne Joplin, Crya Joplin, Alex Joplin and Sierah Joplin.
