Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2018, at Mount Sinai Church of God for Frances Thornhill, 90, of Foxworth, who passed away on Monday, Nov. 19 in Hattiesburg. Burial followed in Mount Sinai Church of God Cemetery. Rev. A.D. Gammill and Rev. Kerry Collins officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 10 a.m. until the time of the services on Wednesday, Nov. 21 at Mount Sinai Church of God.
A native of Marion County, she became a homemaker after being employed with Rotor-Rex and Pioneer Aerospace for a number of years and was a longtime member of Mount Sinai Church of God.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Hezzie Dunaway and Floyd Cooper Dunaway; sisters, Mable Thornhill and Bessie McSwain, and brother, James Dunaway.
Survivors include her husband, Billy Thornhill Jr.; daughter, Toni Thornhill; sister, Hilda Beard; three grandchildren, Joseph Daniel Sanders Jr. (Teresa), Tina Marie Stringer (Ryan) and Rebecca Lynn Sanders; seven great-grandchildren, Daniel Dewayne Sanders (Erin), Nicole Eleese Crump, Courtney Singley, William Louis Hunt, William Mark Sanders, Brianna Lynn Stringer and Haley Ann Stringer and two great-great-grandchildren, Jaxton Dale Sanders and Jace Kolt Sanders.
Pallbearers were Dawson Robbins, Garron Bogle, Joel Prine, Caleb Dyess, Carter Dyess and Jordan McKenzie.
