Leslie Harold Wood
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2019, at the Hathorn Funeral Home for Leslie Harold Wood, 93, of Kokomo, who died on Thursday, Feb. 21 at his residence. Burial followed in Tylertown Cemetery. Dr. Bryant Barnes officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 9 a.m. until the time of the services on Saturday, Feb. 23 at Hathorn Funeral Home.
A long-time resident of Marion County, he served our nation faithfully as a member of the United States Navy. A member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, he was a part of World War II and the Korean War. He loved hunting, fishing and farming. He was a director on the board of Dairyman Incorporated, as well as a member of the Marion County Farm Bureau board. He was a devoted Christian and attended First Baptist Church of Columbia.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Leslie Carl and Eunice Rowley Wood; wife of 47 years, Lena Mae Marie Ledet Wood, and one grandchild, Matthew Rhoden.
Survivors include his two sons, Leslie Adrian Wood (Patricia) of Tylertown and Alan H. Wood (Margaret) of Ocean Springs; one daughter, Karen Rhoden (Jim) of Columbia; five grandchildren, Anita Wood Rushing, (Trae), Leslie Wood Berry (Michael), Courtney Rhoden, Stewart Wood (Amber), LeAnn Wood Smith (Ken), and eight great-grandchildren, Julianna Rushing, Adrian Rushing, Blake Wood, Brayden Wood, Lana Smith, Christopher Jones, Madeliene Rhoden and Austin Rhoden.
