Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2018, at Hathorn Funeral Home for Lloyd Gene Miller, 78, of Foxworth, who died on Saturday, Nov. 3 at his residence. Burial followed in Mt. Carmel Church of God Cemetery. Dr. Joe Wiggins and Bro. David Moree officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 5 at Hathorn Funeral Home.
As a lifelong resident of Marion County, he served his country faithfully as a member of the U.S. Army Reserves. He was a 50-year masonic member of the St. Albans Blue Lodge # 60 in Columbia, as well as a Joppa Shriners member. In 1992, he retired after a long career with Chevron. He was a faithful member of North Columbia Baptist Church and an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Archie and Lubenia Miller.
Survivors include his wife, Judy Miller of Foxworth; two sons, Anthony Gene Miller and Bryan Lloyd Miller, both of Foxworth; one daughter, Andrea Denise Bullock (Ricky) of Foxworth; one brother, Loranzie “L.Z.” Miller (Peggy) of Foxworth, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were his nephews, Aaron Greer, Blake Maxwell, Julio Lemus, Zeak Miller, Timothy Alexander and Samuel Alexander. Honorary pallbearers were Tommy Maxwell and Donald Robertson.
