She had a love and talent for sewing and made clothes for herself, her children and the public. She turned that love into a business that began with ruffled curtains and ultimately drapery and bedspreads. She loved the Bunker Hill community and especially Bunker Hill Baptist Church, where she once served as secretary. She had a life-long commitment to her church and served in many meaningful roles throughout her life. Being a wife and a mother were Patricia’s most cherished roles and she performed them with great love and dedication.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Charles Duncan; parents, Charles Barker Sr. and Vanga Barker; brother, Charles Barker Jr., and three sisters, Dot Ervin, Joann Shaw and Melba Barker.
Survivors include her son, Jeff Duncan (Carmen) of Columbia; two daughters, Melanie Griner and Lisa Dease, both of Columbia; two sisters, Jan Evans and Barbara Pittman, both of Columbia, and seven grandchildren, Natalie Griner, Charlie Griner, Tate Duncan, Reed Duncan, Presley Dease, Taylor Dease and Piper Dease, all of Columbia.
