Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 12, 2018, at Hathorn Funeral Home for Vergie Hodges Foxworth, 85, of Foxworth, who died on Thursday, Nov. 8 in Bogalusa, La. Burial followed in Pearl River Baptist Church Cemetery. Bro. Richard Magee, Bro. Tommy Hudnall and Bro. Yancy Magee officiated at the services. Visitation was held from 4:30 p.m. until 9 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 11 at Hathorn Funeral Home.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Thomas Foxworth; parents, Ephrum and Aletha Hodges; two brothers, Wilbur Hodges and Owen Hodges, and five sisters, Delia Payne, Hezzie McElveen, Wilma McCain, Versie Burris and Beadie Hodges.
Survivors include her two daughters, Paula Fortenberry (Jim) of Franklinton, La., and Stephanie Lee (Al) of Poplarville; one son, Jeffrey Foxworth (Janet) of Hattiesburg; six grandchildren, Dustin Fortenberry (Stephanie) of Lafayette, Shayla Cooper (Brett) of Franklinton, Dana Moree (Josh) of Clinton, Lori Foxworth (Zach Parker) of Seminary, Jodi Foxworth of Brookhaven and Jadon Lee of Poplarville; five great-grandchildren, Kadin Parker of Seminary, Harper Moree of Clinton, and AnnaRae Cooper of Franklinton and Max Fortenberry and Luke Fortenberry, both of Lafayette; special family friends, Garland and Pat Martin of Foxworth and Patricia Rutland and Wanda Brown of Foxworth, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers were Dustin Fortenberry, Jadon Lee, Josh Moree, Zach Parker, Brett Cooper and Neil Barber.
