Former Columbia High School baseball star Stuart Magee recently earned the distinct recognition of being named to the Mississippi College All-Decade Team for his outstanding performance for the Choctaws on the diamond.
Magee starred as an outfielder at Mississippi College in 2010 and 2011 after doing the same for a pair of seasons at Hinds Community College.
In the announcement of the all-decade team, Mississippi College wrote: “Stuart Magee (2010-11) was a mainstay in the outfield during his two seasons in Clinton. A two-time, All-American Southwest Conference First Team selection during his tenure, he etched his name among the program leaders in the Choctaw record book. Magee hit .383 for his career, which sits eighth all-time and the most in the past decade. His .635 slugging percentage and eight triples also rank among the top 10 in the program's history and the most in the past 10 seasons. He also grabbed ASC All-Academic laurels during his final season.”
Magee is the son of Tim and Carrie Magee of Columbia.
