The Columbia Animal Shelter, in partnership with Frosty’s, celebrated its inaugural Christmas Fur Strays party, showering abused strays with treats and toys.
The shelter received an abundance of donations, filling the shelves with food, blankets, treats and toys. People who donated were able to go to the party Dec. 22 to meet their pet and give them their presents directly. Each animal had a stocking and a handmade ornament made by Carla Garcia.
Frosty’s Chef Melinda Winner and Garcia plan to make the event bigger and better each year.
The event had a great turnout. The shelter, Garcia and Winner thank everyone who participated to make sure no animal was forgotten.
“Our beautiful little town pulled together and showed us all that the spirit of Christmas is stronger than ever in Columbia,” Winner said.
