Ronnie Lane Paige is the seventh child and third son of late Supt. Odie B and Missionary Maggie L. Virgil Paige born Aug. 18, 1950 in Columbia. He graduated from John J. Jefferson High School in Columbia and continued his education at Prentiss Junior College, where he graduated May of 1971 in general education and was fifth in his class. He entered Tougaloo College in the fall of 1971 and received a bachelor’s degree in biology on May 27, 1973. He was initiated into the Gamma Upsilon chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha, Fraternity and served as vice president until graduation. After graduation, he went to work for General Motors in Pontiac, Mich. for a year. He is married to the love of his life, Janice Allen. He and Janice have three children: Miracle Ronjan, twins Rebecca Jerlonda, Joseph Benjamin, and he has two older children from a previous union: Ronnie Telvin and Twyla Lershea. Their mother is deceased. Ronnie accepted his calling and felt chosen by the Lord to enter Ministry for The Church of God in Christ on Aug. 18, 1974. He has worked as an evangelist and pastor for the last 48 years. The ministry has allowed him to travel through 37 states and preach in 25 states, as well as being offered invites out of the United States. He has worked with Columbia Public Schools as an educator, licensed insurance agent and owner of J&R Tax Service. He still lives in Columbia while pastoring in Crystal Springs, as well as serving in the COGIC church as National & Jurisdictional Evangelist. He is proud to be the granddad to 11 grandchildren affectionately known as “Paw.”
