“Moses my servant is dead. Now therefore, arise , go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them—the children of Israel. Every place that the sole of your foot will tread upon, I have given to you, as I said to Moses.” Joshua 1:2-3 (NKJV)
Get up! Get out of your comfort zone, out of your life of complacency and fear of failure! Stop wallowing in your own self righteousness, and fear, ARISE AND GO!!! Cross over this Jordan / boundary that prevents you from being who God has created, called, and commanded you to be.
God restates the boundaries of the land He has given the Israelites; from the River Euphrates to the Mediterranean Sea, and from the Mountains of Lebanon in the North, to the Wilderness in the South. Sadly, the tribes of Israel never completed their charge to possess these lands. They became satisfied with just a portion of what God had promised them; as a result, Israel today occupies only a small fraction of what God gave them through Moses and Joshua.
It seems that things haven’t changed much; we are still reluctant to obey God, choosing to settle for the comfortable way rather than being obedient to Him.
Why are we Christians so afraid??? God did not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, of love, and of a sound mind(2Timothy 1:7) The weakness of fear, the lack of love, and the inability to rightly divide the word of God are from the devil, and have no place in a Christian’s life.
God, through Joshua, is telling His people to go and inhabit the land He has given them and promises to always go with them.
What might have been had the Jews been obedient to God? We would not have the plague of Islam threatening the world; there would also have been continuous ownership and occupation of these lands by the Jews, contributing to peace in the region.
Get up! Get out of your comfort zone, out of your life of complacency and fear of failure! ARISE AND GO!!! Cross over your Jordan, the boundary that prevents you from being who God has created, called, and commanded you to be. Get out of your boat! Determine to be obedient to His word; it is the only way to please God.
