This semester, students in the Automotive Technology program at MCCTC have been hard at work in the shop, gaining real-world experience on a variety of vehicle projects. From diagnosing engine problems to replacing critical components, the class has spent countless hours under the hood learning what it takes to keep vehicles running smoothly.
Instructors emphasized teamwork, safety, and the importance of doing the job right the first time. Students have practiced everything from basic maintenance to more advanced repair work — testing alternators, working on suspension systems, and learning how to properly lift and inspect vehicles.
“These students are learning the value of precision and patience,” said their instructor. “It’s not just about turning wrenches—it’s about understanding the systems that make a vehicle function.”
The photos show the students fully engaged — leaning over engine bays, using diagnostic tools, and collaborating to solve problems. Their hands-on approach prepares them for future careers in the automotive industry, giving them the skills and confidence they’ll need once they graduate.
With each project completed, the students have not only improved their technical ability but also developed pride in their craftsmanship — a sign that the next generation of skilled technicians is well on its way.
