Defy Med Spa held a ribbon cutting Tuesday morning to debut its new location at 323 Church St. and welcomed visitors with refreshments, beignets and muffulettas prepared by Foodcademy.
Defy owner Desiree’ Gregory said the new location has been perfect and has felt like a part of her since the first moment she stepped into the historic home.
“It’s where I’m supposed to be,” she said.

Gregory and her husband, Tim, have worked extremely hard to make the already beautiful building feel more like a spa, and she said she’s been an aesthetician by day and painter, carpenter and landscaper by night.

Defy Med Spa was previously located in the BusinessPlex and closed that location in May before reopening on Church Street July 5. Gregory said she loves being in the heart of downtown now.
“I love hearing the cars go by and seeing the people. We live out in the absolute middle of nowhere, so it’s been nice to have some activity and some life around me,” she said.
Gregory added she believes the new location will also help the business because it will be more visible and accessible.
