The “Buzzing for Conservation” Teachers Workshop is being offered for educators of kindergarten through 12th grades in Jefferson Davis, Marion County and surrounding area. The workshop, scheduled for July 8th – July 10th, 2025, provides participants with the knowledge and resources to incorporate environmental education into the classroom through all subject areas. During the three days, hands-on activities and field trips are utilized to teach about soil, water, wildlife, recycling, agriculture, urban ecology, and forestry. Experts from local, state and federal agencies conduct presentations and provide resource materials.
The workshop will be held at The Community Room, in Columbia, MS. Participants earn 2.7 Continuing Education Units. There is a refundable $25.00 deposit to reserve your spot for the workshop. The workshop is free and includes all course materials, meals, and CEU’s. 30 teachers will be selected for this workshop.
