C Spire has been hard at work connecting Columbians to high-speed fiber internet, and the results so far have been everything Columbia could have hoped for.
The C-P reached out to several C Spire fiber internet customers who are already using the service, and all of them had nothing but positive things to say.
“I’ve been really impressed with C Spire Fiber. It’s extremely fast and very reliable,” Cole Oglesbee said. “There’s no buffering, and the low latency makes a noticeable difference, especially when streaming or gaming. It’s handled all of our connected devices without any issues.”
“I love my new Internet!” April Moore said. “It's fast and even in bad weather, I have no problems with it cutting off. It’s better than any other Wi-Fi company I have used that is available around here. It powers all of my devices, and it's still as fast as it can be. Anyone who loves to play video games, this would be the perfect Internet for them, as well as people who work from home. They wouldn’t have to worry about their Internet messing up when it matters.”
Thomas Wayne Spence said the installation only took about an hour at his house and he would definitely recommend it.
“It’s a lot better than what we had previously,” he said.
Oglesbee agreed that C Spire performs better than what was previously available throughout town.
“Compared to our previous provider, C Spire has been a big upgrade. The connection is much more stable, speeds are consistently high, and we’re no longer dealing with random slowdowns or dropouts,” he said. “I would definitely recommend it. They offer several speed tiers depending on your needs. We chose the 1 gigabit plan, and it’s been perfect for our household. But even the 300 or 500 Mbps plans would be more than enough for most people. If you’re looking for fast, dependable internet that can handle a lot of devices at once, C Spire is a great choice.”
Even Mayor Justin McKenzie, who had the C Spire internet installed at his home, is impressed.
“It's proven to be more reliable during the storms. I haven't lost internet, I haven't lost TV, like many times before,” he said. “It has lived up to my expectation of a better quality internet service provider. So, as of now, I'm pleased with it.”
McKenzie added that the city was able to work with C Spire and make it a possibility for Columbians.
“All the work that the federal government and state government put into the grants to get the funding and C Spire jumping on board and obtaining that funding to move forward with our small towns (is paying off),” he said. “Oftentimes the small cities and rural communities, they get overlooked and miss out on some of these bigger projects, but this is one that has been spread out well. It is going to be beneficial to our community for years to come.”
