Taking advantage of the cooler temperatures and beautiful weather, three different entities at three separate times, combined their efforts and spent time doing their part to clean-up City Park.
Members of Pine Needles Garden Club spent the morning of Sept. 23 cleaning around the plants and fixing up the flower beds ahead of the Heritage Festival scheduled for this Saturday. The flower beds were pruned, weeded and mulch was spread out over the beds.
On Friday, Looks Great Services donated time and equipment to cut down four dead trees at the park.
Saturday, members of the Junior Auxiliary and Phi Kappa also worked to clean up the park. In addition to working with the plants, they also did work around the playground.
Mayor Justin McKenzie said he appreciated everyone coming out and helping make the park look great.
“If we work together, great things can happen,” McKenzie said.
