The Marion County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with the Columbia Police Department, served a search warrant Wednesday morning that ended with the arrests of two Columbia residents on a total of 20 charges.
Narcotics investigators for both the sheriff’s office and CPD served the warrant at 15 Williamsburg Road at the conclusion of a long drug investigation.
A search of the residence uncovered methamphetamine, liquid methamphetamine, marijuana, prescription medication, scales, drug bagging materials, firearms and drug paraphernalia.
Covey Blansett, 35, of Columbia was arrested and charged with armed trafficking, possession of methamphetamine while in possession of a firearm, felony child endangerment, four counts of possession of a weapon by a convicted felon, possession of methamphetamine with intent to distribute, sale or transfer of a controlled substance, Mississippi Department of Corrections warrant, two contempt of court warrants, failure to appear warrant and two misdemeanor counts of possession of a controlled substance.
Amy Carroll, 38, of Columbia was also arrested as a result of the investigation and charged with armed trafficking, possession of methamphetamine while in possession of a firearm, felony child endangerment and two counts of misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance.
Investigators seized 550 dosage units of methamphetamine, 17.9 grams of methamphetamine, more than half and ounce of marijuana and sublingual.
Both Blansett and Carroll are awaiting bond while in custody at the Marion County Regional Correctional Facility.
