An 18-year-old Columbia woman is behind bars for allegedly shooting and killing 19-year-old Marcus Leshaun Lowe Jr. Friday night. Myi’Anna Oneshia Bridges has been charged with culpable negligent manslaughter and will make her initial appearance in court soon.
The Columbia Police Department was dispatched to 215 McDaniel St. Extension at 8:38 p.m. Friday and found Lowe Jr. with a gunshot wound to the torso. Lowe Jr. was transported to Marion General Hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after.
Bridges is currently being held at the Marion County Regional Correctional Facility and will remain there until her initial appearance before Justice Court Judge Brandon Rowell.
Columbia Police Chief Michael Kelly is asking for prayers for the family, friends and all involved.
“The Columbia Police Detectives are committed to conducting a thorough investigation into this tragic event and will continue to provide updates as appropriate,” according to a press release issued by the CPD.
