Mason McMullin, who was previously charged with seven counts of aggravated animal cruelty and two counts of unnatural intercourse, has been charged with 10 new counts of aggravated animal cruelty, two more counts of unnatural intercourse and seven counts of abuse to livestock.
McMullin, 24, of Foxworth was initially arrested Sept. 26 for allegedly committing the heinous acts on a variety of domesticated animals and livestock. With further investigation by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office, the 19 new felony charges brings his total to 28.
Although McMullin helped operate his family’s business, Best Side Pet Care Services, a pet and livestock sitting company, the sheriff’s office has not found any evidence that the animals involved were associated with the business.
McMullin was arrested by the sheriff’s office after an animal wellness check was reported. After interviewing him, a search warrant was served at his residence. A second search warrant was executed the following day that uncovered further physical and video evidence, according to a press release issued by the department.
McMullin allegedly tortured, committed sexual acts with and killed animals while recording some of the acts on video.
McMullin is currently being held at the Marion County Regional Correctional Facility on a $500,000 cash bond and made his initial appearance in court Sept. 30. His bond is likely to increase with the new charges once he appears in court for them. A date has not yet been set.
