Three Gulfport men started their weekend Friday behind bars after a failed attempt to deliver contraband into the Marion County Jail.
Thomas James Everett, 24, Jamario Donte Gaddis, 25, and Diamon Darriontae Raiford, 28, were all arrested Friday after attempting to throw a package over the fence at the jail. The package contained crystal meth, more than 60 dosages of ecstasy, marijuana and four cell phones.
Everett was still in jail as of press time Tuesday on charges of introducing contraband into a correction facility, drug trafficking and conspiracy to commit a crime. He has a bond of $30,000.
Raiford is out on a $40,000 bond. He was charged with two counts of introduction/possession of contraband into a correctional facility, drug trafficking and conspiracy to commit a crime. Gaddis is free on a $50,000 bond. He faces three counts of introduction/possession of contraband into a correctional facility, drug trafficking and conspiracy to commit a crime.
Major Zack Guidroz with the Marion County Jail said that inmates on the inside were aware that the items were coming.
The matter is still under investigation.
