A former Columbia resident’s body was found Monday morning along the side of the road in Madison, Tenn., just outside of Nashville. Law enforcement officials in Tennessee have identified the person as Tabitha “Tabby” Ryals, 32.
Ryals was initially reported missing in May of this year by the Columbia Police Department. She was subsequently located alive in June, and the case was closed, according to CPD Chief Michael Kelly.
Law enforcement in the area said Ryals had been around Nashville for the last few months, according to the Nashville T.V. station News 4.
Her body was wrapped in a blanket when discovered Monday. Investigators believe Ryals had died somewhere else and then taken to the location where her body was discovered. They consider the case to be a homicide, however the cause of death will not be determined until an autopsy is completed.
Anyone with any information about the matter is asked to call Nashville’s Metro Crime Stoppers at (615) 742-7463.
