At a Marion County Sheriff’s Office safety checkpoint Friday, a man wanted on active warrants was arrested and faces more charges after deputies allegedly found drugs in his possession.
Charles Allen Griffin, 28, of Tylertown was arrested at the safety checkpoint on CR Conerly Road in Kokomo. His charges include possession of a Schedule I-II drug (.1 gram – less 2 grams) enhanced penalty due to a firearm, possession of controlled substance of a Schedule I-II drug (less than .1 gram), possession of marijuana (less than 30 grams), possession of controlled substance paraphernalia-use, possession with intent to use and controlled substance with enhanced penalty due to possession of firearm at the arrest.
At the checkpoint, Griffin allegedly had in his possession marijuana, marijuana pipe, one dosage unit of suspected morphine sulfate, felony possession of oxycodone and a firearm.
Griffin, as of press time on Tuesday, was in the Marion County Jail with a bond set for $26,500.
