A Kokomo man is facing a felony rape charge for an incident that allegedly happened July 7 in the northeast part of the county.
Albert Andrew Morgan, 32, of Tylertown was arrested on July 30 for forcible rape with intent to ravish a female of previous chaste. Previously arrested was Billy Ray Deen, 56, of Sumrall for the same alleged incident.
Deen was arrested on July 15 by the Marion County Sheriff’s Office.
Capt. Pete Williams with the Marion County Sheriff’s Office said Monday the alleged incident happened at a residence where the victim was given a drink. The victim became sleepy afterwards and fell asleep and woke up to being sexually assaulted.
No bond has been set for Morgan, and Deen is still in the Marion County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
Capt. Pete Williams said it remains under investigation.
The charge, if convicted, carries a penalty of up to life in prison. There is no minimum sentence, according to state law.
