Adam Woodward, 41, of Foxworth was arrested Friday for allegedly kidnapping and sexually assaulting a teenager, who was classified as a runaway, inside his Marion County home.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Office received information that the runaway teen was possibly with Woodward, and it was able to obtain a search warrant for his Foxworth residence. When Investigator Brent Sandifer arrived at Woodward’s residence, Woodward walked out the front door and locked it behind him.
Woodward allegedly argued about law enforcement’s ability to enter his home, but deputies were able to execute the search warrant and enter the premises.
Once inside Woodward’s home, the juvenile was found by deputies hiding in Woodward’s bedroom. Through the result of the investigation, Woodward was charged with kidnapping and sexual battery.
Woodward is being held on a $100,000 bond at the Marion County Regional Correctional Facility.
Woodward has previous arrests for contempt for disorderly conduct in May 2024; two counts of possession of controlled substance paraphernalia with intent to use in February 2024; contempt of court, disorderly conduct: failure to comply with officer and resisting or obstructing arrest in March 2023; and grand larceny in 2014.
