Homecoming Queen: Joy Buckley
Joy is the daughter of Cassandra and Rickie Buckley. She is a member of New Birth Fellowship Ministries where her father is the pastor. Joy serves as lead singer in the church choir. During her tenure at CHS, Joy has been a member of the Save Club for three years.This school year she started her third year as a member of the CHS Choir and Ensemble. In addition to choir, Joy has also begun her third year as a member of the Columbia High School Marching Wildcats’ Color Guard where she serves as this year’s captain. She is a Columbia Wildcat Ambassador, serves as secretary and treasurer for the senior class student council and is a first year member of the FCCLA group. Joy plans to attend Jones College for two years to obtain her associate’s degree in nursing and to become a registered nurse. Following her time at Jones, Joy plans further her education at William Carey University to receive her bachelor’s and master's degrees. Joy’s hobbies include hanging out with friends and family, shopping, cooking and binge watching all of her favorite movies and tv shows.
Joy will be escorted by Keion Jackson, son of Aungria Davis and Kethyya Jackson. Keion is a member of Little Rock Church located in Foxworth. He has participated in CHS basketball and baseball for four years. Keion plans on majoring in sports broadcasting/coaching. In his free time he loves spending time with his friends and family and playing video games.
Maid of Honor: Jordan Bourn
She is the daughter of Amanda and David Bourn and has two younger brothers named Brandon and Logan. While at CHS, Jordan has been involved in Student Council, the CHS Cheerleading Squad, Diamond Girls, BETA Club, Art Club and the color guard. Jordan is also involved in clubs outside of school, such as Delta Beta Sigma, where she currently serves as Devotions Chairman, Phi Kappa and Crown Club. After graduating, Jordan’s plans are to apply to the cosmetology program at Pearl River Community College and get her license in cosmetology. In her free time, she enjoys shopping, drinking loaded teas and spending time with the people she loves.
Escorting Ms. Bourne will be Conner Daugherty. Conner is the son of Kim and Ricky Daugherty and has two brothers named Andrew and Hunter. He attends Sandy Hook Baptist Church. While at CHS, Conner was a member of the track team his freshman year and has been a member of the Columbia High School Marching Wildcats for four consecutive years. In his free time, he enjoys traveling, going to Hattiesburg and spending quality time with family and friends. After school, Conner plays to attend Pearl River Community College where he will major in Auto Mechanics.
Maid of Honor: Jasmine Sheppard
She is the daughter of Princess and Corey Sheppard. She is a member of Friendship Missionary Baptist Church. As a student at CHS, Jasmine has been a member of the basketball team for all four years, served on Student Council for two years and has been a member of both Beta Club and the Save Club for three years. Jasmine plans to attend Jackson State to pursue a Health Education major with a coaching license that will enable her to coach middle school and high school basketball. Her hobbies include hanging out with her cousins, watching Netflix and playing basketball.
Jasmine will be escorted by Latonio Irvin. Latonio is the son of Shunci Irvin. He is involved in Columbia Valley United Methodist Church. He has been involved in football and Beta Club since he was a freshman. Latonio’s future plans are to go to college and play football and make it to the NFL. His hobbies are playing football, hanging with friends or laying around watching YouTube.
Freshman Maid: Ally Purvis
Ally is the daughter of Josh and Ashley Purvis. Ally is a member of Bunker Hill Baptist Church and the sorority, Delta Beta Sigma. In the future she plans to attend Southern Miss and major in early childhood education. Her hobbies are spending time with friends and family.
Ally will be escorted by Hunter Owens. Hunter is the son of Chris and Crystal Ann Owens. He is a member of the North Columbia Baptist Church and a freshman member of the CHS Baseball team.
Sophomore Maid: Shakyja Bullock
Shakyja is the daughter of La’Shunda and Darrell Nelson. Shakyja is a member of Life church. As a student at CHS, she was active in Save club her freshman year. Shakyja’s future plans are to attend the University of Mississippi and study psychology. She plans to pursue her education until she completes her PhD. Shakyja’s hobbies include reading, watching documentaries of forensics and watching television shows about surgeons.
Shakyja will be escorted by Devyn Daron Peters. His parents are Rhonda Ilori and Delvin Peters. Devyn is an active member of the St. Paul United Methodist Church in Foxworth where he is the president of the United Methodist Youth and the lead specialist for the Audio/Visual Multimedia team.
Junior Maid: Jessica Baker
Jessica is the daughter of Michael and Rebecca Baker. Jessica is an active member of Emmanuel Baptist Church where she is very involved in the youth group, serves on the Youth Committee and volunteers at Vacation Bible School each summer. Jessica is also a member of two local community service clubs, Junior Auxiliary’s Crown Club and The Dusty Club. She serves as junior executive of The Dusty Club and is a Phi Kappa little sister. Jessica has been a CHS cheerleader for three years. Jessica is a 5-year member of the softball team where she earned 2019 Breakout Player of the Year. Jessica has served on the CHS Student Council for three years and currently serves as junior class presidentAfter her senior year, Jessica plans to attend Mississippi State University to become a civil engineer. Jessica spends her free time with her family and friends. She enjoys tumbling, running, eating and making TikToks.
Jessica will be escorted by Hayden Adkins. Hayden is the son of Travis Adkins and Angelia Dawsey. Hayden is a member of Emmanuel Baptist church. He has been a member of the Columbia baseball team for three years and is also involved in beta club. Hayden plans to attend the University of Mississippi.
Senior Maid: Amiya Oatis
Amiya is the daughter of Kededra Oatis and Terry Lowe. Amiya attends Friendship Missionary Baptist Church where she is a youth leader, praise dancer and directs the children's praise dance team. As a student at CHS, Amiya has been involved in band/color guard for four years, a member of the National Honors Society and a member of the CHS Vocal Ensemble. She has participated in the musicals for two years as a dancer and is also a Wildcat Ambassador.
Amiya’s plans for the future are to attend Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College where she will major in Business Management. Afterwards, she plans to attend the Culinary Institute in New York. Her hobbies are dancing, baking, color guard and spending time with family.
Amiya will be escorted by Shawn Butler. Shawn is the son of Jeni and Mark Butler. He is a three-year member of the CHS Paw Print staff. He attends Calvary Baptist Church and likes to spend his time reading, watching YouTube and playing video games.
Athletic Maid: Aniyah Fortenberry
Aniyah is the daughter of Adrien and Ashley Fortenberry. She attends greater East Lampton Church where she sings in the choir and is on the praise team. Aniyah enjoys listening to music and going out with her friends. She has been a part of the Lady Wildcats basketball team for four years and the volleyball team for three years. In the future she plans to attend Jones College to major in physical therapy.
Aniyah will be escorted by Tyler Quinn. Tyler loves Fruity Pebbles with orange juice and the color yellow.
Activity Maid: Hannah Watts.
Hannah is the daughter of Herb and Sarah Watts and the sister of Ella and Daniel Watts. Her grandparents are Herbert and Vicky Watts and Richard and Martha Beal. Hannah is a member of Calvary Baptist Church where she serves as the welcomer in the Youth Group. She is also a member of the Junior Auxiliary’s Crown Club. Hannah currently holds the title of the Distinguished Young Woman of Marion County. She also represented Marion County in February of 2020 when paging for local Senator Angela Hill. Hannah is a member of First Priority, the Spanish National Honors Society, SAVE Club, KEY Club, Chess Club, the Wildcat Ambassadors, Mu Alpha Theta, PawPrint and Book Club. She is also part of Beta Club where she served as vice president her junior year. She represents the school on the State Superintendent's Student Advisory Council, is an ambassador for the Mississippi Skills Foundation and the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership Program. Hannah has performed in all the CHS musicals where she has held lead roles. Since her freshman year she has also been a part of the school’s Speech and Debate team. She is a four-year color guard member and is currently a co-captain. Hannah has been elected to a position in her Student Body Government every year of high school where she currently serves as Student Body President. Hannah plans to attend the University of Mississippi where she will double major in Public Policy and Pre-Law in hopes to attend law school and become a lawyer. Hannah enjoys binge watching Gilmore Girls on Netflix, reading good books, keeping up with current events, cuddling with her dogs and listening to Christmas music year round.
Hannah will be escorted by Zachary David Lowery. Zachary is the proud son of Joe and Angela Lowery. He has participated in the Tim Tebow Night to Shine for four years. Zach enjoys lifting weights, riding his bike, watching old movies and participating in the Special Olympics. He believes in treating others the way you want to be treated. He also considers others happiness, health and emotions before his own. His future plans include to be a road construction worker.
Academic Maid: Dariel Recasner
She is the daughter of LaWanda McGill, the late Derrick Recasner, and Eric Spriggsel is a member of the Expose Church of God In Christ. As a student at CHS, Dariel has been a four-year member of the volleyball team and a member of the CHS track team for all four years as well. She is a two-year member of the National Technical Honor Society of the Carl Loftin Career and Technology Center, a representative of FCCLA (Family, Career and Community Leaders of America) and serves as a Wildcat Ambassador.
Dariel plans on attending Pearl River Community College to get an associate’s degree in Early Childhood Education and then will transfer to the University of Southern Mississippi to complete a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. She enjoys watching movies, babysitting, hanging around her family and playing volleyball.
Dariel will be escorted by her twin brother, Darius Rescasner. He is a three-year member of the CHS football team, four-year track member and a member of FCCLA. He plans to attend Pearl River community college to major in culinary arts or history. Upon completion of his time at PRCC, Darius plans to transfer to Mississippi State and obtain a bachelor’s degree of Culinary Arts. His hobbies include video games, football and basketball.
Blue Football Maid: Chyna Armani McCalebb
She is the daughter of Cindy Sartin-McDyess. Chyna is a member of Christian Family Worship Center. During her years of high school at CHS, Chyna has served as a four-year member of CHS Marching Wildcats, two-year color guard veteran, 2020 “Grease” cast member, Safe Club Member, Wildcat Ambassador and was also a member of Tri-M. Chyna’s future plans are to attend Pearl River Community College to further her studies in Early Childhood Education and then transfer to the University of Southern Mississippi to major in Education. Her hobbies include hanging out with family and friends, watching movies, drawing/painting, traveling, singing and dancing.
Chyna will be escorted by her cousin, Zachary Ja’Rohd Hampton. Zachary is the son of the Reverend Eddie and Windy Hampton. Zachary is a member of Christian Family Worship where he serves as a member of the Boys to Men Youth Group. As a student at CHS, he has been a member of The CHS Band for five years where he has held a leadership role as Section leader of the CHS Drumline for three years. After graduation, Zachary plans to attend The University of Southern Mississippi where he will major in Biology. His hobbies include hanging with friends, playing video games, watching Netflix and spending time with his family.
Gold Football Maid: Shantel Rich
Her parents are Shirley and Glenn Rich. As a student, Shantel has served on the Wildcats Marching Band Color Guard for two years, has been a three-year member of SAVE Club, a member of Beta Club and served on the State Superintendent Student Advisory Council. She has also been a member of National Technical Honor Society, FCCLA, serving as vice president her junior year, and participated in the Early Childhood Education program. Shantel was recently After graduating from high school, she plans to obtain her associate´s degree in Nursing at Jones Community College followed by work in either a hospital or nursing home as a registered nurse. After gaining some experience, she wants to join the nursing program at USM to earn her bachelor's degree and work as a Neonatal Nurse. Shantel’s hobbies include cheering on the Wildcats at football games, spending time with her friends, shopping, taking pictures outside and watching Hulu and Netflix.
Shantel’s escort will be Austin Arnold, son of Greg and Abigail Arnold. Austin attends Tower Hill Church of God where he is the drummer for the praise team and is actively involved in the youth group. As a student of CHS, he has been a member of the Columbia High School baseball team for four years and a member of the Drumline in the Columbia High School band for three years. After high school graduation, Austin plans to attend Lee University to pursue a degree in digital marketing and hopes to play drums and travel with the Lee University Campus Choir. His hobbies include, playing baseball, playing drums, video games, basketball and fishing.
