Since opening in September 2011, Marion Finance Company has steadily grown into one of the leading loan companies in Marion County.
Owned by Earl Sanders and ran by Manager Tiia Williams and Melynda Hudson, Marion Finance offers a variety of options for its customer base.
“We do small personal loans, car loans, furniture loans and match whatever the financial needs of our customers are,” Williams said.
While securing a loan can oftentimes seem overwhelming, Marion Finance does everything it can to walk customers through the process and help find a manageable option.
“When they come in, we take their application, do a credit check and see if they’re approvable for the loan. Then we see how much they need, and if they qualify we do the loan based on the terms,” Williams explained. “We try to set it in a payment they can afford and arrange a scheduled payment date that is good for them. We try to go along with what’s good for the customer. We bend a little bit for them.”
Williams, who previously worked with Republic Finance and Advantage Financial and has worked in finance for more than 23 years, said what separates Marion Finance is the time it takes to sit down with customers to understand their situation and needs.
“To me it’s not just lending money, it’s the personal side of seeing what they’re going through and how we can help them with the best rate,” she said.
While Marion Finance is a small finance company, it has aspirations to offer bigger loans and real estate loans down the road. However, it’s that small business feel that allows customers to feel like they’re at home when they visit the office at 805 Main St.
“No one wants to go somewhere they don’t feel comfortable going to. If you’re going to be making payments, you want to go somewhere you like going,” Williams said. “We treat (customers) with the best kindness, and we try to get them what they need.”
One of the business’ aims is to help its customers to the point where they will be comfortable referring their friends and family.
“Marion Finance is a great company, and we love what we do. It’s not just us getting a paycheck or a job. We want to make sure customers can come in here and be able to go out and tell other people we are great people to deal with and how much we helped them,” Williams said. “When customers come in, we solicit them if they know anybody who needs help, we’ll do our best to do what we can to help each family get where they need to be. We’re a small company that’s growing really fast.”
