Moree’s Florist & Gifts, located at 402 Lumberton Road in Columbia, has been a long-standing pillar in the community for nearly decades.
Tommy and Caffey Moree have been in business in the same location for more than 26 years and supply more than just Marion County.
“We are the largest florist in the South and supply Marion County and surrounding counties with all of their floral needs,” Caffey Moree said. “We believe we have some of the best designers in the floral industry.”
Moree’s Florist & Gifts, which employs six designers and two delivery drivers, is currently preparing for its busiest time of year, Valentine’s Day.
“During the Valentine’s holiday time, we staff around 20 employees to get out the large quantity of orders,” Caffey Moree said. “Each year we have more than 6,000 roses with many different colors.”
Caffey Moree added that Moree’s Florist & Gifts also specializes in the funeral business.
“We are the go-to florist for funeral work and deliver to Columbia funeral homes and all surrounding funeral homes and churches,” she said.
Moree’s offers fresh and silk bouquets for any occasion, cemetery flowers, gifts of all kinds, balloons, silk retail flowers and countless wedding selections. Caffey Moree added the business also has expanded its inventory.
“We try to keep our prices low to better serve our customers,” she said. “We actually have opened a larger gift shop with men’s and women’s cologne and jewelry, and we are also the lone Columbia dealer for Dionis Goat Milk Skincare products.”
Caffey Moree expressed that the business could not have done it without the support from the community.
“Tommy and I would like to thank our many customers for supporting us the last 26 years and we plan to be in Columbia for many, many more years to come,” she said.
Caffey Moree said her long-term goal is to continue to grow.
“For the long term, we just want to keep growing,” she said. “We try to keep growing each year and do more and more. We always try to continue to have a larger selection of items.”
