Tease Salon recently moved from Main Street to 139 Old U.S. 98 E., and Owner Theresa Morris said it has been a smooth transition.
“The move and the transition have been wonderful. We’ve been very busy and enjoyed it,” she said. “I like the newer building and the French Quarter feel of the building with the wrought-iron balcony and French doors. We’ve enjoyed being over here.”
The salon is multi-faceted with every hair stylist possessing a variety of certifications and also offers waxing.
“There are seven of us that work here, and every one of us specialize in colors, perms, keratin, highlights, Brazilian blowouts and more,” Morris said. “We’re all certified to do all of it. They do great work, are very professional and really friendly.”
Morris is joined by Megan McKenzie, Breanna Yawn, Alicia Rogers, Courtney Crain, Abby Sumrall and Tammy Simmons at Tease Salon.
Morris said Tease Salon is also very flexible to accommodate its clientele.
“We do appointments, but we also do take walk-ins. We tell them they may have to wait a few minutes, but we always work them in,” she said. “We like people to make appointments at least a few days ahead of time.”
Tease Salon is open from 9 a.m. until, with stylists working flexible hours to assist clients who work until 5 p.m., Tuesday through Friday. Tease does take late appointments, and Morris works one Saturday of every month.
“Most of the people when people call and ask me to work on a Saturday, I usually have one client a month who can only come on Saturday, so I try to fill that one Saturday. It’s not any particular Saturday, but I try to do everyone on that one Saturday,” she explained.
Morris said she loves the environment Tease Salon has created for both the staff and customers and loves being a part of the community.
“I enjoy the people and the girls I work with. We not only work together, but we are also friends. We have a great work environment. I enjoy my customers. I consider them my friends also,” she said. “I enjoy being around people and enjoy serving people. I hope to show kindness to people, and I hope when they come into my shop that they feel welcomed and comfortable here. I want them to feel that no matter who they are, they are comfortable when they walk through the doors.”
Morris said her only goal for Tease Salon is to maintain the level of service and continue to improve upon it.
“We’ve been very blessed with the business that we have, and I would just like to continue that,” she said. “The Lord has blessed us, and I have great girls that work here. We have a great environment that we work in, and I appreciate each and every girl that I have. They do amazing work. I hope to maintain that and get even better.”
