The Marion County Sheriff’s Office charged a Kokomo man Tuesday with murder and his father with hindering prosecution related to the death of an as-yet-unnamed man whose body was found burning in a car Friday.
Henry Sammy Foil, 33, is also charged with tampering with evidence and arson in addition to the murder charge. He, along with his father, Bradley N. Foil, 55, were being held at the Marion County Jail as of Tuesday evening.
Both were scheduled to make their initial appearance before a Justice Court judge Wednesday for bond consideration, the sheriff’s office said in a news release.
Marion County Coroner Norma Williamson said they did not have an official identification as of Tuesday evening, although a Foxworth man’s family has posted on Facebook indicating it was him. The C-P is withholding publication of the victim’s name until it is officially confirmed.
Capt. Pete Williams of the sheriff’s office said they have a preliminary autopsy report and are working with DNA to confirm the identity. Williams said they are withholding further information about the circumstances leading up to the death pending the ongoing investigation.
The Marion County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release that it received a call about a vehicle fire at about 9:12 a.m. Friday on Knoxo Road in Kokomo near the Walthall County line.
When the Southwest Marion Volunteer Fire Department and deputies arrived they found a body inside the vehicle that was also burned, according to a news release issued by the Sheriff’s Office.
The Mississippi State Fire Marshal's Office and the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation have been called in to assist with the death investigation, the news release said.
