The Marion County Historical Society’s 52nd annual Heritage Festival is set for Oct. 7, and organizers are currently seeking vendors for the event.
Activities kick off at 9 a.m. and last until 5 p.m. in Columbia’s City Park. Pre-registration for booths is available through Sept. 1 at a cost of $40.
“Arts, crafts and baked goods vendors are welcomed,” Kelly Roberts, vice president of the Marion County Historical Society, said. “A special antique yard sale section has been set up for all gently used items that are clean and in working order.”
Besides seeking vendors, the Historical Society is always seeking volunteers for the Heritage Festival. For information and reserving a booth or how to get involved, call the society at (601) 731-3999.
“Heritage Fest is Columbia’s largest public event,” Roberts said. “Each year, it draws more than 4,000 visitors from across Mississippi, Alabama and Louisiana. Heritage Fest is a family-oriented event with 100-plus vendor booths, entertainment and delicious food.”
The Marion County Historical Society is a non-profit organization located at 200 Second St. The MCHS is dedicated to preserving the history and culture of Marion County and the region.
