A Friday morning domestic dispute ended with one person dead and another in jail.
Janekqua Henry, 24, of Columbia is charged with second-degree murder related to the death of Joshua Woodson.
The shooting took place inside a trailer at 57 Bacchus Road, off Mississippi 13 just south of Columbia. Dispatch received the call at 7:46 a.m.
It appeared Woodson had been trying to get away from Henry, according Marion County Sheriff Berkley Hall.
Woodson was pronounced dead at the scene, and his body has been transported to the State Crime Lab for an autopsy.
Henry remained in the Marion County Jail as of Monday.
Capt. Pete Williams of the Marion County Sheriff’s Office said at the scene Friday morning that a person of interest had already been taken into custody, and by Friday afternoon the Sheriff’s Office had formally charged Henry.
The Sheriff’s Office, Mississippi Bureau of Investigation and Coroner Norma Williamson are investigating the shooting.
