These are trying times indeed; Jesus told us of these events in John 16:13. He also gave us hope when He declared that He had overcome the world and its troubles. We must not be discouraged or dismayed when the forces of evil do what their father wishes of them. Satan came to "steal, kill, and destroy" (John 10:10) so that's what those who follow him must do. Those whose allegiance is to Christ Jesus are not required to "steal, kill, and destroy", we are to be those who "do justly, love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God." (Micah 6:8). Do not be awed by the violent mobs getting so much attention by the "news media" (in fact, don't believe much of anything they say) they are themselves blinded by their own leadership and unable to see as they ought. Even the horses and chariots of fire that surrounded Elisha and his servant were invisible to their enemies. It was true then and it is certainly so today that we "Do not fear, for those who are with us are more than those who are with them." (2 Kings 6:16-17)
This great turmoil is simply a time when battle lines (on the battlefield of the mind and spirit) are being drawn, and sides for the final conflict are being chosen. Make no mistake, this is not a race issue, nor is it a purely political one; it is a fight between good and evil. We have been given the opportunity to determine our eternal residence, these confusing times are just that, a time of decision. Please choose wisely my friends, as for me and mine, we have chosen the one who has already won as our Leader.
We must do our part as those loyal to Jesus Christ, by being calm and considerate of others, by voting wisely, and by continuing our witness for Christ Jesus, above all else, we must be people of prayer. Like Ester, 4 :13-14, you and I were born for such a time as this! Also, like Ester, if we keep silent we will perish. It is our Christian obligation to speak up, and to speak out against the evil of this world. If we believe we will not be silent; Jesus has already won, and we have chosen Him!
