Columbia Academy is proud to announce its Homecoming Court that will preside over festivities on Friday, Oct. 18, 2024. The night will conclude with the football game against the Silliman Institute Wildcats at James E. Pope Field. The crowning of the Queen and presentation of her court will be at halftime of the game.

Representing Columbia Academy this year as Homecoming Queen is Kyndall Thornhill. She is the daughter of Amy and Eric Thornhill of Foxworth.
Kyndall’s escort will be Owen Simmons, son of Bethany and Will Simmons of Columbia. Berklee Ball will serve as Flower Girl to the Queen. She is the daughter of Preslee and Trevor Ball of Columbia. Crown Bearer for the Queen will be Gunner Carney. He is the son of Candace and Brandon Carney of Darbun.
At CA, Kyndall has served on the student council the last three years. She is currently serving as the Student Body President. She was elected Sophomore Maid by her classmates. Kyndall is a member of the Key Club, Mu Alpha Theta and National Honor Society. She is currently serving as co-editor of the RAGUOC yearbook. Kyndall enjoys giving back to the community by serving as a member of Junior Auxiliary’s Crown Club. In Kyndall’s free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and friends, shopping and playing golf.

Briley Sullivan has been chosen by the Cougars as this year’s Football Maid. She is the daughter of Tracy and Brian Sullivan of Foxworth. Briley’s escort will be Ethan King. Ethan is the son of Heather and Keith King of Bassfield. Briley chose Stella Pierce as her Flower Girl. She is the daughter of Leah Zehentner of Edna and John Mahaffey of Foxworth.
Briley is an Honor Roll student and a member of Mu Alpha Theta, National Honor Society, DECA and Key Club. She is an award-winning athlete on the field as well as an outstanding student in the classroom. Briley has won many awards during her time as a member of the Lady Cougars softball team, Lady Cougars basketball team and the track team. She loves supporting the Cougars as a water girl for the football team and a Diamond Girl for the baseball team. It has made her high school career more fun. Briley has been an active member of the student council and a member of the RAGUOC yearbook staff. She enjoys reading and shopping in her spare time.

The Senior Maid is Clara Rawls. She is the daughter of Libby Robbins Rawls and Kandace and Donald Rawls, all of Columbia. Her escort will be Zach Zehentner. Zach is the son of Katie Zehentner of New Hope and Rob Zehentner of Edna.
At CA, Clara is an Honor Roll student and has been on Mrs. Angie’s List. She is currently serving as senior class representative. She enjoys volunteering her time serving her community and others as a member of Junior Auxiliary’s Crown Club. She has volunteered with HOPE Outdoors, Operation Christmas Child and summer music camps, just to name a few. Clara enjoys spending time with her family and friends, traveling to the beach, baking and shopping.

The juniors elected Molly Sistrunk to represent their class as Junior Maid. She is the daughter of Amanda and Heath Sistrunk of Topeka Tilton. Molly chose Carson Daniels, son of Ashley Daniels of Oakvale and Clayton Daniels of Silver Creek, to be her escort.
Throughout school, Molly has been on the Honor Roll and Mrs. Angie’s List while staying involved in various school activities. She is a member of the DECA Club and the National Honor Society. She has been a valuable member of the basketball and softball teams. Molly was named MVP of the varsity softball team and part of the All-District team for two years. Molly loves being on the river and hunting with her dad.

Representing the sophomores is Kara Herring as Sophomore Maid. She is the daughter of Julie and Kevin Herring of Sandy Hook. Kara will be escorted by Carter McMichael, the son of Kelli and Doug McMichael of Columbia.
During her nine years at CA, Kara was a cheerleader for six years and was also a member of the archery team. In junior high, she enjoyed showing off her musical talents with the Columbia Academy Show Choir group. She is a member of the Dusty Club and the Key Club. Kara loves taking photos for the RAGUOC yearbook. She can be seen with her camera at most CA events. Kara works hard in the classroom to be an all-A Honor Roll student and a member of Mrs. Angie’s List. Some of Kara’s favorite activities away from CA are going to football games and spending time with family and friends.

This year’s Freshman Maid is Sydney Sartin. She is the daughter of Lisa and E. Ray Daniels of Bassfield and Jerry Sartin of Bassfiled. Sydney chose Colton Speir as her escort. Colton is the son of Kristen and Tim Speir of Bunker Hill.
Sydney has been an Honor Roll student during her seven years at CA. She is a member of the Lady Cougars basketball team and Show Choir. She loves cheering for the Cougars. Sydney has been a cheerleader since the third grade and has been chosen as an All-American cheerleader. She excels in the classroom with high averages and is always on the all-A Honor Roll and Mrs. Angie’s list. Outside of CA, Sydney enjoys serving her community in various ways and being a member of the Dusty Club. In her free time, she loves to travel.

The first presentation of the court and the pep rally will begin at 8:30 a.m. in the G. G. Flynt Gymnasium. The annual parade will begin at 1 p.m. The parade will begin at the old New Orleans Furniture location on Mississippi 13 North and proceed through downtown Columbia ending at The Yards. At 6:15 p.m., the pre-game festivities will begin on James E. Pope Field. The Columbia Academy Cougars will play host to the Silliman Institute Wildcats, with kickoff at 7 p.m. The crowning of the Queen, Kyndall Thornhill, at halftime of the game will conclude the Homecoming festivities.
