Junior Auxiliary of Columbia will be celebrating the 77th year of its chapter with its annual Charity Ball Feb. 28 at the Dogwood Venue in Sumrall, and JA encourages past Citizens of the Year to fly their flags beginning Feb. 21.
The annual ball is JA’s biggest fundraiser of the year, and this year is expected to draw quite the turnout. It will begin with a cocktail hour at 7 p.m., there will be both a silent auction and live auction and a DJ will be performing from 8 p.m. until midnight. The Citizen of the Year will be announced at 9 p.m.
The past 10 winners of Citizens of the Year are Jeff and Rene Dungan, Billie Kay Beets, Renee Porter, Carlton Thornhill, Leigh Berry, Stephanie Guidroz, Kristian Agoglia and Jacob Harrison, Mark Carithers, Mark McDaniel and Jim Ragan.
Individual tickets are available for $95, and two tickets are available for $160.
This year's Charity Ball will be in memory of Pegi Buckley Johnson, a lifetime JA member. JA looks forward to the amazing night of fundraising and fun to highlight the work it does in the community.
