Columbia receives grant for erosion, eyes Friendship Park grant

The Columbia Board of Aldermen met Oct. 17 to accept a grant worth nearly $300,000 to prevent ditch erosion in Jingling Creek, which feeds into the retention pond on RA Johnson Drive.

Forestry Association holds annual meeting

Inside the Luter manslaughter trial

Kimberly Luter was found guilty of manslaughter Friday afternoon at the Marion County Courthouse in the shooting death of 10-year-old RaLajah James on Jan. 14, 2021 and could face up to 20 years in prison.
Luter, 36, of Expose will be sentenced Oct. 30 at 9 a.m. at the Marion County Courthouse by Judge Brad Touchstone.
